Let’s be honest, we’ve all thought about when we want to get married and maybe even some of us already have a date in mind. Don’t worry we don’t judge. Setting a date is one of the first steps of the wedding planning process. Not only is it super exciting, but it sets the tone for the wedding and gets the ball rolling on the rest of the planning process. Before you commit and say “I do” though, you’ll want to take into consideration if your date coincides with your wedding vision and aesthetic, and that’s where we’re here to help!
Naturally, one of the first things to consider when setting a date is weather. While it is sometimes unpredictable, as least it is here in Texas, we can usually assume winter is cold summer is hot and fall / spring are somewhere in between. Of course, we love every season and what comes along with it and know your wedding will be beautiful no matter what!

If you’re still feeling stuck on a season, think about when you’re happiest. Is it when you’re enjoying a backyard BBQ or cuddled up by a bonfire and making s’mores? Once you have that figured out, you can begin the process of elimination.
If your heart is set on a summer wedding, but you’re worried about your cake melting and toppling over or your freshly applied makeup dripping down your face, maybe consider a brunch wedding with bottomless mimosas or a sunset shindig complete with fireworks. Maybe summer isn’t on your radar at all, and you’re planning for a white winter wedding with Christmas trees and mistletoe galore. Dreamy, right? If you’re concerned about frostbite (too extreme?) or a fur shawl isn’t exactly your style, gather up some ideas from pinterest to ensure you and your guests have a cozy night.

While we love every aspect of weddings, we can’t help but get extra giddy when we get to talk about things like florals, decor, and color palettes, all of these pretty much go hand in hand. Once you have a color palette picked you can incorporate those colors into your florals and smaller decor items. If you live for a good pink moment and have dreamed of a bouquet full of peonies and the most beautiful creamy white linen napkins, the warmer seasons would be the perfect time for you. If you're the opposite and find yourself pinning pictures of jewel tone velvet bridesmaid dresses or a naked red velvet cake, fall and winter have your heart. Now that you have your color scheme picked out, start thinking about those smaller details that will really make your wedding a reflection of you.
Lastly, don’t forget to keep in mind your dress code. Does your dream dress have long lace sleeves or are you all about strapless? You’ll want to consider what you want your guests and bridal party to wear. Is your heart set on a black tie event or something more casual and laid back? After you've handled that, choose a time of year that is appropriate for your desired attire.

There are pros and cons to each season, but ultimately it’s up to you. We know it will be absolutely perfect and so much more!
