When Southwestern Meets Hill Country | An Epic Styled Shoot at Lost Mission | Spring Branch, TX

Y’all – this Southwestern styled shoot at Lost Mission was E V E R Y T H I N G !!!

So, what’s a styled shoot?? Basically it’s a mock wedding…or mock wedding setup (because not always do we have a couple, sometimes it’s just a bride!) that vendors get to have fun and be creative, trying new ideas that we don’t always have requested for a wedding. They are done for inspiration, for design portfolios, a way to showcase all of our hard work – and this one was one for the books!

The process for planning this styled shoot started similarly to how we would begin working with a Planning & Design client – with a mood board! Mood boards help visually convey all of our thoughts and ideas into one place for other vendors to utilize in their own creative ways! While we add photos for inspiration, we want all of our vendor friends to use their artistic talents and be inventive on their own! Check out just some of our mood board pieces below that were sent out to all of those involved prior to the shoot.

Naturally, like anything in the wedding industry, nothing always goes according to plan. Luckily we were working with an incredible bunch of wedding pros so we rolled with the punches! First, our original venue canceled. Problem solved because Lost Mission was so wonderful to let us do the shoot there on shorter notice, and honestly the setting could not have been more perfect for the southwestern/desert vibes we were giving! Then, on the morning of the shoot (we’re talking like an hour before we were to start hair & makeup), our model texted me that she was sick – like 102 fever sick – and wouldn’t be able to make it. Then comes Malarie with Lazy Creek Designs to the rescue! She was always going to attend the photoshoot as a vendor, but instead she became a vendor AND our model…and she killed it!

We cannot say enough AMAZING things about all of the vendors involved. Everyone was flexible with the changes, had a positive attitude, brought their A-game and literally made our mood board come to life! From invitations from Girl General, to a delicious-looking cake from Frosted Confetti, and all of the details like the terra-cotta place cards and bar sign from Lazy Creek Designs – we cannot pick a favorite element! Of course the always incredible Angie with Evember brought us the perfect textural floral elements to fit our color palette, and it complemented so well with all of Cru Rentals tablescape and lounge pieces!

Jax Studio slayed hair & makeup, per usual. They even switched up the hairstyles to fit different dress looks. And y’all, we got to showcase three of A.Cherie’s custom wedding dresses. We can never get enough of Ashley’s talent and originality in every one of her gowns! As always, it helps to be partnered with an amazing photography team like our sister company Snap Chic Photography, because otherwise we wouldn’t have these gorgeous photos to show y’all!

Thank you again to all of the wonderful vendors involved in this shoot. We know in our hearts that any of our clients would be well taken care of with each and every person on this little #dreamteam. Now who wants to make this shoot a reality with their wedding?! ;)
